Homeopathy Institute of the Pacific (HIP)

Volunteer public health project for military veterans and traditionally underserved populations.

 

 
I was a co-founder, and served as Vice-President for four years on the Board of this 501(c)3 non-profit organization in San Francisco. I developed and managed all marketing communications efforts, including successful social media and PR campaigns to raise funds for free medical clinics available to military veterans and other underserved populations.
 
HIP now operates three clinics in the Bay Area funded solely by donations and low-cost payment for services.
Social & Viral Education


One of my goals as a Board member was to educate the public about the proven efficacy of homeopathy for veterans suffering from PTSD.

 

Because homeopathy is little-known in the United States, this required engaging the homeopathic community and leveraging these connections on social channels. Facebook and twitter, along with pass-along email campaigns, provided the most effective means of reaching people quickly.

 

Despite leaving the board at the close of 2015, I remain an active advisor and contributor to the organization.

Based on my previous work at Edge Films, I knew that video possessed the power to communicate with impact and open hearts and minds.

 

Without a budget and using all volunteer assistance, I produced the fundraising video shown here. This video embodies the social media adage that it's not the quantity of views that counts, but the quality of the viewers.

 

When the video had tallied just a few hundred views, the owner of a homeopathic pharmacy in Marin County saw it and was inspired to donate 100% of the medicine dispensed by HIP's clinics—free of charge! An extraordinary donation that has already helped countless veterans.

Memorial Day and Veteran's Day social media and email fundraising campaigns.

HIP's annual online fundraising campaigns utilize mass email and social media sharing via Facebook, twitter and LinkedIn to spread the word in the homeopathic community and beyond.

 

These programs are the organization's core public fundraising efforts each year, and continue to generate vital monetary donations and in-kind support to help sustain all three of HIP's clinics in the Bay Area.

 

Because of these programs, HIP is able to provide essential medical care and trauma relief to hundreds of patients.
